- The beginning of day routines:
- Students will come in the classroom and select a lunch choice and go look to see what center they will be in for the day. After centers students will come to the carpet for the the pledge, and to cite our 5 classroom rules (this can be found under the rule tab). The leader is selected alphabetically and he/she will lead us to do the calendar. We will then practice counting.
- Lining up for transitions to another class or area of the school
- After one minute of silence, I will be calling up one table at a time to line up at the door to leave the classroom.
- Restroom breaks
- Students will “Flush, Wash, and Move Long” in the bathroom. Depending on how many stalls are in the school's bathroom that is how many students will be going in there at once.
- Pencil Sharpening
- The teacher will provide each student with three pencils at the beginning of the school year. It is the student’s responsibility to keep all three pencils. Students can switch their dull pencil out for a sharper pencil with the teacher in the morning.Every month or so a pencil fairy will come and give extra pencils to all the students. This means there will be no pencil sharpening needed.
- Hallway Behavior
- In the hallway students, will be in butterfly locks (arms across each other) and bubbles in their mouth.
- Homework Assignments
- Homework Assignments will be assigned only if the student didn’t finish their homework. On the newsletter, there will be an extra practice that I would encourage the parents to practice with their child. t.
- Discipline
- If a student is not following directions he/she will be moved to a seat in the back of the classroom "safety seat". If student still does not cooperate then he will be/she will be sent to a buddy seat which is in another’s teacher classroom. After buddy seat he will be moved to principal office. Along with the proper steps, the student will also get a card on the poster of the rule he did not follow. When he gets a card he will have to walk 2 minutes at recess. Each card will be an extra 2 minutes.
- Rewarding Program
- When students are following directions, listening well and complete their assignment then they will receive a chance ticket. On each Friday I will draw two names for the students who earned chance tickets that week, students whose names are called will pick something out of treasure box.
- Nap Time /I time
- Toward the end of the day, we will participate in nap time for the first half of the semester. Students who do not feel like sleeping can work on assignments they did not finish throughout the day, read, puzzles, or something quietly at their seat.
- End of day routine
- I will write a note in each student’s folder of what we did today and how they behaved. Students are responsible for stacking up the chairs and cleaning up their spot. We wrap up the day on the carpet with a book. We will line up at the door and order the students by bus riders, car riders, and then the after-school program (tiger tales). We will sing a good by song.
